No Reason to be Ashamed!

"For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed." - Isaiah 50:7

As ministry leaders, there is simply no way we can do what God has charged us to do without his support (help). When we humble ourselves, the scripture tells us He gives us grace. This grace the scriptures speaks of is the divine enabling to perform His tasks as His ambassadors. It is not by our power or might that we lead for Him, but it by His Spirit. We are to follow the Spirit of God wherever He leads us. I'm reminded of Luke 4:1 where it says Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Spirit of God. Leader let God ask you through me, "What wilderness is the Spirit of God driving you into?" "Are you humble enough to yield to this driving?" "Are you willing to keep in step with His spirit as Galatians 5:25 commands us?"

The Hebrew word for flint in this passage of scripture means hard rock, hard stone, to be healthy, to be strong. This tells me our face has to be set as a hard stone in order to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ. You cannot be soft or have a soft face so to speak. A leader with a soft face turns away from things like confronting sin, speaking up for what is right, making tough decisions the Godly way. Leading is not for wimps! If you are soft, you will be ashamed. The demons, imps, the world, and even your own flesh will cause you to be disappointed and disconcerted. These enemies of ours will cause us to delay experiencing the fullness of Christ's ministry. Surely, they will put us to shame.

Oh, but when we follow His spirit, we shall not be disappointed, disconcerted, experience any delays, or be put to shame! So, set your face like flint leader of the Most High God and be and do all He's challenged, called, and equipped you for.

I close by letting you know you are in good company. My face is set like flint and so was Jesus'.
